Walk and hike through lush green and shady forests, kayak and swim in the sparkling waters of the sea. Stay in traditional accommodation, and sample the local excellent gastronomy. 10:30 Portaria to Volos city cycling through scenic trails.
11:30 Tour of Volos and sightseeing on two wheels.
“Lets go for one” tasting tsipouro (local grape destilate).
We leave the bikes and return to Pelion by car.

Day 2: Greek traditional breakfast and departure from the hotel.
10:00 Go to Chania 1250m (Pelion top) and go trekking in the route Chania-Portaria. This is a unique path through oak forrest with breathtaking views of the Centaurs mountain. Through ancient Centaurs trails and cobbled paths it will take 3.5 hours to arrive in Portaria having discovered some hidden secrets of the magic Centaurs land!

Day 3: Greek traditional breakfast and departure for another day of adventure and contact with nature.
10:00 Go to the sea and initiate into the secrets of kayaking! Theory and cruising on kayaks under the supervision of a certified instructor. Alternatively, depending on whether, this activity can be replaced with climbing. Duration about 4 hours.
Return to Portaria.

Day 4: Greek traditional breakfast and departure from the hotel.
10:00 Walking to the Farm Karaiskos and tour the garden and the farm.

Arrival Day | Portaria is located on the Pelion Peninsula, a little-visited area of Greece and a walker’s paradise! This area is accessible from either Athens or Thessalonika with good train or bus links.
Arrive in your traditional gastronomy hotel and relax on the veranda, relishing in views over the central traditional sqare with its typical Pelion architecture and hundreds of years old trees in the Centaur land.
This evening why not stroll into the village relishing in views over Volos and the Pagasitic Gulf and admire its fresh spring waters, its typical Pelion architecture with the windows and doors of the houses painted in a variety of colours and winding cobble-stoned paths.
Day 1 | In our cycle tour we pass streams and wooden bridges, water fountains ride on cobbled-stone paths, through olive groves enjoying in the distance excellent view over the city of Volos and the sea down below. Soon we reach Volos, a coastal port city in Thessaly situated midway on the Greek mainland, about 326km north of Athens and 215km south of Thessaloniki. Volos is the largest seaside city’s a rich history and the birth place of the Argonauts. We cycle along the old castle remains, an impressive imitation of the mythical ship Argo, the railway station of Volos build in 1880’s, the neoclassical houses, the tiny streets of the old city, the markets. the wonderfull boulevard while enjoying the spectacular views of Pelion mountain tops and take a sit at one of the numerous traditional taverns called “Tsipouradika”. Volos is the birth place of “Tsipouradika” (traditional tapas bars) where we go to taste the famous Tsipouro snaps. At the ende we leave the bikes and return to Pelion by car.
Day 2 | At Hania there are hotels and restaurants open all year round. We start our walk to Portaria passing, dirt tracks, cobbled-staned paths, through the chestnut forest. We pass chapels, small streams a ravine, overgrown with plane trees and hear about the old secrets of this mythical Centaur’s mountain. From some spots, we enjoy beautiful views to Portaria village and the sea down below or to the peaks Agriolefkes and Schitzouravli above to the east.
Day 3 | The general plan is shown below but we will always adjust the plan in accordance with our guests requirements and the weather. Today we have two opportunities, go kayaken or climbing rocks.
We can paddle in the waters of the sea and visit secluded destinations having the chance to enjoy the panoramic view of Volos and the mountain of the Centaurs. Making brief stops in picturesque ports and beaches try local flavors in the taverns on the sea front. In the morning the sea is usually calm and routes offer many small beaches for swimming.
Or we go for exploring the climbing paradise of Pelion mountain We look for all the best places for a breathtaking climbing experience. The mountain is thickly forested and criss-crossed by stone-paved mule tracks. We learn the ropes and enjoy climbing various crags in an amazing location.
Day 4 | After a big traditional breakfast and three days we probably all want to know how we kan make all these things.
We will make our way to the Farm Karaiskos where you will meet up with our resident chef who will talk you through the basics of Pelian gastronomy while you make a tour of the garden nad the farm. You the participate in a cooking workshop, a hands on informative cooking experience. You will prepare traditional dishes using only local and seasonal ingredients and enjoy a full meal under the trees. By the end of the day you will have grasped the basics of the local gastronomy!
The gastronomy, culture and natural landscape of Pelion will follow you back home through the traditional aromas and flavours of this undiscovered Greek region.
